    water in engine

i have a new engine ran about 30 minutes then put rest of car together i'm about to drive it for 1st time decided to change oil first in case of any shavings. it has been about 2 months since starting when i went to drain oil the first little bit as i was pulling plug looked and smelled like antifreeze but it was so little it would have not filled up a shot glass should i worry about this.the car is sitting back so this would be the very bottom of the oil pan thanks zano

YES!! I destroyed a new big block chevy like this. My problem was a bad casted intake manifold. It had some pores on the gasket side and the antifreeze eventually made it through the intake gasket. Locked up the oil pump and kaboom! It will start as a drip then once the waterpump builds pressure it will blow. Check your intake gaskets. I dumped $5000 in the toilet.

No, water and or antifreeze is heavier than oil and will always be on the bottom near the drain plug, it's a dead give away thats something is leaking internally.

you may want to check, and make sure the bottom of the intake set,s flush against the cylinder heads.

let it drip into a glass container (clear), then wait and see if anything seperate,s out. water should be on the bottom, if indeed there is water.
