Default Howard's Cams

Anyone ever use a cam from Howard's? I had never heard of them but they have one that I think will work well with my engine and rpm range...just wondering if they were any good.

Default Howards Cams

Howards has been around since the 60's and possibly the 50's. They are more well known for their aluminum rods. A friend of mine ran them in his SBC in the 60's, he was very satisfied with them. Don't know anything about their cams. They probably have a website out there somewhere. You could try searching on dogpile.com

Yeah I have been to their website. Their cams are quite a bit cheaper in price than others that's why I asked if they were any good. I didn't look at them for the cost I just saw a cam they had that I liked and didn't want to buy a turd.

Default Howard's Cams

I have one running in a SBC, 350 .060 flat top, Its a solid lifter cam. The cam works great and sounds mean. You can hear the car/engine coming and going for a quarter mile in either direction. The car has run 12:00's at 110 m.p.h. I would not hesitate to use another grind from them. The Howard's lower priced cams are not ground by them, they are re boxed. They will do a custom grind for you, but their again I do not think they actually grind them.
