    350 With 4.0 Stroke

    I am looking for some advise I have a 350 2 bolt main block looking to put a 4.0 stroke crank. I need to know whats the diffrence with 5.7 rods or 6.0 rods. Could use some help on the compression will be using patriot heads 2.05int. 1.96 exhaust, victor jr. 750 or 850 carb. also what would be the biggest cam that I should use. I figure the motor should be around 408 cubic inches. Does anyone run this combo, its going in a 97 sonoma with a 9inch w/4:56 gears it will be street and strip. I had the 383 in the truck but it had a knock so i figured that I would make it better. Please let me know what you think looking for some help thanks.

    Putting a 4 inch stroke in a 350 block is probably going to get you into the water jackets and the differance between the 5.7 and a 6.0 rod is .300 differance.

    And using a 2 bolt block with that much stroke will certainly make the caps move around or break.

    will a 3.750 stroke be too much for the 2 bolt main block. I am wondering if that is what my knocking noise is. thanks for the info.

    I'm with carl on this one, it's hard to go more than 3 7/8" with a 350 blk without getting into the water jacket. I have a friend running this combo with alum rods, but 2" dia pin. actually it runs pretty good, 9.20's @143mph with a 55 chevy@ 2600lbs.
