scoop question

Default scoop question

i have a 871 blown bbc with 2 holleys and typical hilborn scoop.i was told that by drilling some 1 inch holes in back of scoop would increase power,anyone got any info on this?

I would not recomend that.... holes in the back would allow the air to exit at the rear, which would mean the air would want to move over the tops of the carbs which would lower the air pressure over the tops of them which is not what you want.
The whole idea of the scoop is to let the air pressure build up over the carb venturies.
Besides, I personally think it would look ugly.... :shock:
