I doubt very much,
this question was posed to Jerry Stahl a few years ago and he says he's rarely seen more than 1% gain from step headers and that gain is only gained when you're attempting to get good torque at the bottom of your RPM range and open up a little on the top of your RPM range. He says it not even noticable.
His opinion.

You can find this ph# on hookers web site.

PS, i'm running 1 7/8" Hooker supercomps in my Malibu with 377" motor now and it previously had a 406" motor in it. I also have a set of 1 3/4" to 1 7/8" step headers that i'm not even useing.

step headers
The headers are not for sale i just mentioned them because i didn't install them, because i didn't think there would be any gain over the 1 7/8" headers, plus i don't have collectors for them.

I recently got an email from a friend that installed Dyntech MuscleMaxx 1 3/4-1 7/8 step headers on his 401 sbc,HE WAS USING HEDMAN 1 3/4 HEADERS:....Boy, did it make a difference! At SIR in Tucson, picked up .270 with about the same air as we had when I ran down there in March! Went to Firebird on Monday for a little test session and with air at about 1150' went 10.051 at 131.96. I think that is the fastest this car has been. I know the 60' was my best ever at 1.370 in this 3165 lb. slug with the small block 401 in it! EGT's were 1320 - 1352! Went up 2 jet sizes as I don't like being that close to lean!
