Another hmmm ?
After driving the 50 home, my brother did say it got hot.
We checked and that is when we found the electric fan was dead.
It did run fine.
Now, after some time it sat and cooled.
We fired it up again and low and behold it will not come up in rpm now.
It comes up to about 1500-2000 and is like it just can't rev any higher.
I know I have seen this before on one of my cars but it has been so many years and killed brain cells, I do not remember what might cause this.
I asked if it did that on his way home he said no, it ran great.
We put some carb cleaner in and no difference.....please, any help?
It has what appears to be a GM HEI, Holley 600 4bbl.
The plug wires look shot, but that does not seem to be the culprit.
Again, help!!!!!!!

Carl I can not imagine the block being cracked at only 220 degrees...Sounds like a blown head gasket is causing your water leak and you have some possible valve damage also, but now you know I do not know anything about engine building...Just a poor back yard mechanic..good luck and some of the experts will be along...
