SBC Blower Head Gasket problem
Need some help or suggestions with a Head Gasket Problem on a SBC Blower motor
Motor
370 cu
Dart block (Steel)
Brodix -11x CNC Aluminum Head
11-1
Alcohol injected
871 stripped
@ 20psi boost
7% over
Copper head gasket
studded
O-ringed
taking water out of the head off the end and middle
No Rad. just circulate the water
the problem is between 3-5 and 4-6 pushing the head gasket out into the water system
Have no problems for 5 or 6 races and then we'll have problems back to back passes and then be good for a couple of races

are you using any sealant on the copper head gaskets?
if not you need to try the brush on type HYLOMAR. this will make your seal 100% stronger.
wipe it on both sides of the gasket itself.
thanks

I have seen alot of people have trouble with copper gaskets and blowers.
Why not run the Loc Wire Head Gaskets and be done with the issue's?
All that needs done is the reciever grooves cut in to the heads and block.

His block is o-ringed and not lossing any compression from the cylinder. to my understanding he is squeezing out some water//the haylor mar will cure this problem..
many people put the copper head gaskets on without any sealer which is not too good of idea for obvious reasons.

From what I am seeing the head gaskets with the loc wire are not copper.
I guess that is what thru me off..
This is what makes me think it is leaking from the chamber..

it could very well be. He pm'ed me and said they were squeezing 28lbs of boost thru the small block.."alot of boost" from a ROOTS type blower..so i WOULD NOT doubt if it was caused from a cylinder blowing by......when you start packing that much boost in a motor..its gonna come out someone where.....which could lead into other problem areas like type of cam shaft and exhaust..if the boost is not getting out thru the exhaust valves (lobe seperation)into the exhauts pipes as fast as it is being put in,,you could squeeze out a gasket....,,,also there must be a good block invloved...LOL....
i am curious as to wht type of exhaust is on the car and what is the cam profile ?
He did order the hylomar...i had a 383 SBC with o-ringed block with SCE Copper head gaskets with a BDS stage 4 competition blower making 22lbs of boost and never passed any water..i did use the Blue brusg type haylo mar on both sides of the head gasket...but now keep in mind he is packing in 5 to7 more lbs of boost then i did also....i also ran Zoomie headers 2-1/4 primaries ( had to use adapter plates) and a very agreesive blower cam...
