EGT's on Alcohol

What kind of egts should I get with my 434 sbc birdcatcher tunnel ram on alcohol? Any cheap gauges out there? I run 150ft to 200ft at a time. Thanks for the help.

It doesn't matter. Start leaning it out until you burn off the cad plating on the plug, then note the EGTs.

Use the EGTs to tell you if something is wrong.

I mud race too, so I know what your doing.

I don't think that EGT's really help as far as mud racing goes because you don't have enough time in a 200 ft run for them to give you an accurate reading. I always rely on plug readings. The poor readings are compounded if your using nitrous. But if you have to have one Altronics has one called red alert that works very well and is the cheapest on the market. http://www.altronicsinc.com/ runs about $900.00
