Front motor plate
When installing a front motor plate in a stock chassis does it matter if you weld your mounts from the frame on the inside of the frame or can you weld them on the outside of the frame?

i really dont think it makes a difference..... ive done both before

Doesn't matter. Just make sure you make the mount big enough so it's not hard to get to the bolts. Some cars/ trucks have so much room it makes no difference, but some can be tight and a pain to get to and work around.

Samesame; Take into consideration an engine pull at anytime in the future. EZ are the key letters here ! I build all my cars with that foremost in mind. I REALLY dislike fighting and engine and/or trans R&R.....

Agree with DD.
I always leave a "step" cut in the front plate and mid plate. I drop the assembly on the frame and the plates hold it while I put the bolts in. Very easy... |
