Ford 460 / 557 stroker first time bulder !

Hi can anyone tel me the proper piston ring gap for the Ford 557 stroker ? .

I am building a Ford (D9TE--AB ) 460 stroker 557ci .

It is my first stroker so I can use some help ! .

I have restore a lot of clasic Mustang v8 engine's so I now what Iam looking at .

Plan is to make a street driven / track engine on gas for the strip I put it in a 1971 Mach I Mustang .

(Sorry for my not so perfect writing ! )

Usually theres a info sheet with the rings that gives you a formula to achieve the proper end gapsper bore size and application I.E>N/A nitrous, blown, turbo.

On my stroker 496 BBC N/A.

I came up with .022 to .024 on the top rings and .024 to .026 on the second ring.
Whatever you end up with the second ring will always be wider by at least .002 over the top.

Oil rings usually come pregapped even in file fit packs, but its a good idea to check them anyway, they should be around .035
