sidewall punture

Just a street tire.
It has a plug in it and its a little leaky, but the tire shops say a tire is ruined with a side wall punture.
They don't make this tire anymore and i haven't found a used one so can a patch be put in the tire then add a innertube and that be alright?

if it is a hole -yes--if it is a slice --NO!!

Yea its just a hole because its got a plug in it and it doesn't leak very much at all, but I figure on a side wall that flexes at every revolution it only a matter of time before it shoots out the plug!!!!

YOU CAN PATCH THE INSIDE BUT MAKE SURE AND CUT THE PLUG OFF FLUSH INSIDE SO IT DOES NOT CUT THE PATCH

I WOULD NOT TRUST THIS TIRE TO RACE ON OR AT HIGH SPEEDS BUT I WOULD TRY FIXING IT

Tubes don't live very long in radial tires. The built-in sidewall flex will eventually wear thin the inner tube. In an emergency situation you could temporarily run a tube but ya want to run higher air pressure to limit the sidewall flex.

Go to truck stop or a truck repair shop they will tire plugs with a patch on it
you put the plug from the inside pull through then cut off the extra plug off even with the side wall i have done it a few times works great.
