motor mounts

All chevy big block and small block mounts should interchange if you do not have clearance issues to deal with. So, if you have a '69 camaro with a small block and no fan shroud, it probably will not matter which mount you use. There are 2 different heights of factory mounts. Don't recall right now, but I think they are either 3/8" or 1/2" different in height. For example, a '69 big block Corvette uses the short mount. If you try to use the tall mount, the fan will hit the shroud and you will most likely have a hood clearance problem. If you do some research at on-line part stores, you should be able to figure out which mount (tall or short) came factory on your car. Again, it might not matter on your application.

Good luck, Dan

It does not matter whether it's a 283 up to a 400. There are different heights depending on the frame mounts and what car/chassis they were meant for. If they are different than what you run you may run into pan clearance, header clearance, or bellhousing area clearance even if they bolt up. And shroud as mentioned.
