I have a bone stock 97 Ram 1500 4wd that barely gets 12mpg. Also a 2003 Dodge Durango with a cold air intake kit and cat-back exhaust. It barely gets 15mpg on a perfect day. What you have is not out of the ordinary.

Driving habits and type of driving has a huge effect on fuel economy. I had a mid 90s Escort 5 speed beater car a couple of years ago that I could only get around 23-24 mpg out of. I live 1.5 miles from the shop so most of the time the car didn't quite get warmed up. I sold it to my brother and he was working a construction job that was over 60 miles each way. He got almost 40 mpg running 80 mph.

Same here sam, doesnt matter if I was hauling a car on a trailer or just a case of beer, that gas mileage was at least consistent! :D

70's gas burning Mopars are the same, loaded or not. My 71 pickup an 77 motor home for example.
