Stiff sidewall construction

Are the stiff sidewall construction Goodyear tires any good. Has anybody used these on a light car like a dragster. Not familiar with them, so why are they made? If anybody uses them please give me some info.

Thanks
Rick

I ran these tires on a monza that weighed 2200 lbs tires worked great on the light car ran straighter. Also found out that if car gets crossed up you have better control. Roger Millsap Illinois

Rick,
Are you crushing the sidewall or getting a lot of shake? I have seen some of the really fast dragsters running a stiffer sidewall Mickey Thompson, but I don't have any knowledge of the Goodyears in that setup.
