Alky vs. gas

 Need some input hear folks. BBC...454...14.1...Dart 320's port matched, Enderle bird catcher injection w/3" spacer on Victor tunnel ram mani., MSD Digi 7 ignition, gas ported pistons, mild roller & kit.

Running alky now, but can I "safely" run race gas with 14.1 and appropriate jetting/ignition changes?

Thanks a bunch for your input!

ya don't see many injections such as the birdcatchers etc...running gas...but i did do some research on doing the same thing when i ran a ron's (toilet bowl) a few years back...and the answer is yes it can be done (broad answer)......your ignition will be fine....if anything you would need something hotter for alcohol not gas.

Jim at enderle can start you close with jetting

:D bjuice..... thanks for the input & contact. I was concerned with the compression ratio being on the high side, for gas.

The hat is adjustable and the tunnel ram is plumbed/injected in each runner. Also run normal pill and a high speed bleed so she doesn't load up/stumble coming out of the box.

i am an ex vp fuel dealer..trust me they make high enough octane gas to support what your speaking of....i would say c-16 would take care of the bigger part ..but they do make a higher octane gas if need be...

Sunoco also makes a 118 octane version now ..if you need something that high...much more reasonable..

now that alcohol has went thru the roof ( price) ..gas is back practical ( price wise ) for many..

good luck...also Jim is a nice guy..be prepared to tell him what your combo is including heads etc,,,

he will get you in the ball park

Alky vs Gas

E85 is the answer, I'm running a blown 355 with approx 15 to one compression at 14lbs boost, approx 900 HP.Paying $2.79 a gallon for it....Read all stuff on internet trust me its THE future for us racers. By the way I'm running a Enderly Bug also....Steve

Alkycoupe I'm very interested in your set up! Can you provide all the details of your engine? Also whats the web sights.
Thanks

If you are going to run race gas Sunoco Supreme 112 is plenty for a 14.1 to motor. My engine that I had two years ago was a 469 (0.070 over), GM 188 iron heads, 13.8:1 , and a 1000 cfm holley. On the dyno I tuned it on VP C14 and then switched it over to Sunoco 112 and I made 11 h.p. and 13 ft lbs of torque more on the 112 Octane fuel. Here is a link to Sunoco's website for the 112.
