Hey guys. I am almost ready to take out my car that I have been building for the last 3 years and wanted to gets some opinions on what it might run. The car is a 1991 Mustang that weighs approx. 3000lbs. The motor is a 408 CI windsor with 13:1 pistons a .672 .668 lift roller cam with .268 int and .272 duration. Edelbrock Victor Jr intake, 195 Ported canfield heads, 800 cfm Mighty demon carb, C6 trans with a 5000 stall converter and an 8.8 with 4.10 gears. I know I am lacking a litle in rear gear but the car was built for a lot more motor than what is in it now. Also I am from MT where we race around 6000 feet. I hope that the car will go high 6's in the 1/8. Let me know what you think.

bryanm, my fisrt engine in my mustang was about the same as yours. my car was 406 ported heads roller cam about the same spec's as yours but mine was a small block chevy. both cars are very close in weight ,gear etc. i ran 10.48 at about 1000ftelv. i have to think that yours should run 10.6-7s at 6000ft in the 1/4 mile or better. there is calculater to figure out the change from 1000-6000ft that would give you a better idea on how much i would of lost going to 6000ft. good luck, bring it out of the clouds at it should fly :D :D :D

I beleive with that combo it should run in the high to mid 6's in the 1/8 mile easy if it hooks up, what tire you got on there?. may even run faster with more gear like a 456 or 488.

I run 28-10.5's on it. Yeah I know it is lacking some gear but I planned to build a Yates headed 430 CI small block for it but didn't have the funds at the time. I will see how it works with the 4.10 and maybe put in some 4.88's and see how that works.
