Brake Question

Building a Chevelle (rolling chassis now) and I am just getting into the brakes. Would stock front calipers with good rotors & pads along with a aftermarket rear drum set up be adequate to stop a say a 10 sec. Chevelle. I have been looking at the Wilwood set ups and needless to to say the are expensive. I dont want to go overkill nor do I want to compromise safety.

Brakes

On my 77 Vega I used the stock rotors on the front. They were redrilled to a 4.5 inch, 5 bolt pattern. It is a Ford pattern, but it fits the rotor. The machine work was done by Moser Engineering. The rear is an 9 inch with drum brakes from a 1975 LTD that has been narrowed. Has run a best of 10.71 @ 128. Brakes feel great and stopping has never been an issue. Hope this helps. The car weighs 2640.
