8.5" 10 bolt or Dana 60?

I'm building a 700hp BBC 505ci. I have a 8.5" 10 bolt with 4.10s, spool, stock axles & a Dana 60 with 4.10s, spool, stock axles. I'm going to buy aftermarket axles. I know the Dana is a hellofalot heavier but will the smaller rearend work?

I run that rearend with Strange 33 Spline Axles and a Spool and street gears and no issue's yet..I don't have 700HP either..
My best 60' is 1.33 with a weight of 2760Lbs...Just my experiences.. :)

with a 505 and 700 hp, and probably a heavy car, you will snap the 10 bolt like a twig. Put the dana in it. They are not that much heavier, not like you need a forklift to move it around..if you are buying axles anyway, get em for the dana
...now there will be guys come on here and tell how they are running 10 bolts just fine in their 2000 hp blown pro mod street cars....

Ed is rite on the money Put the Dana in & forget about it .
It will be one less thing to worry about or replace later .

I'm with Ed on this too. Heavier car or big H/P will find a weak spot. Use the Dana and It probably won't be it. The few pounds will be worth the dependability.
