100% Custom Hand Fabricated Rat Rod Pickup
View Extra Large Photos
$10,000.00
I have found two projects I would like to have, but I need some cash flow. So I must sell this in order to move on to the next. Any offer $9,500 or better buys it. Show up at my door with cash and you might be surprise what I would do. Looking to do Lead Sled next so bring on the trade offers.

I own my own small business and can accept your credit card as payment.

Price Lower $2,000. Don't ask me go go lower this in my bottom dollar. Really want to trade for another project plus cash so I can build another. Rat Rods and Lead sleds preferred, but I will consider anything.

This truck was taken to two local car shows. Won first place at one and second place at the other in the Rat Rod category. You will not be disappointed.

1938 Chevy Rat Rod Truck – 1 of a Kind – Hand Fabricated

100% Hand built, custom rat rod truck: Frame is a 2x3 square tube chassis. Rear end is out of a 1985 Ford Crown Victoria 8.5” Ford differential with 3.08 open gear. Rear suspension is a custom 4 link that uses the stock Ford components with chassis engineering coil over adjustable shocks and springs attached to the factory shock mount. Front suspension is a straight axle from a 47 Chevy pickup mounted model A style with a single mono leaf spring and two shock absorbers each forward arm. Stock ford drum brakes on the rear, New disk brake conversion kit on the front axle from speedway motors. Steering box and column from 47 Chevy pickup. All steering linkages are new from Speedway motors. Rims are stamped steel 16” 6 bolt Chevy on front and 16” 5 bolt Ford on rear. Tires are like new and all 4 match.

Body: Hand built from 1 inch square tubing and steel. Corners were hammered into shape. All welds left in place nothing sanded smooth. Cab and Box are not some junk yard save. All sheet metal is brand new and custom fabricated. New custom made seats from “Stitchen Bitch” custom covered in red and black leather to match the exterior paint scheme. Paint is Flat black implement paint with “IH” red used for the scallops and firewall. Trans tunnel is an old oil pan from a previous race car engine that grenaded. Steering column is supported on top by 2 connecting rods welded together end to end. The interior is covered with stickers from all my previous race cars. New 4 point seat belt harness. From the Ground to the top of the cab measure 39”.

Drive Train: Small Block Chevy 350 bored .030 over. Stock pistons, crank and rods. Crane Engergizer 292 cam with hydraulic lifters and Pete Jackson gear drive. Hurricane High rise open plenum intake Holley 600 CFM vacuum secondary carb. MSD distributor, MSD Blaster 2 coil and MSD 6AL box with 6800 rpm rev limiter chip. All electronics are hidden and I used a points style cap for the old school look. Transmission is a turbo 350 race prepped with 2500 rpm stall converter, reverse manual shift pattern and transbrake. Tons of fun at a stop light. Rear end is an 8.5 For with 3.08 gear and open carrier. Engine has more than sufficient power for the lightweight body. Fuel tank is a 15 gallon tank from a Farmall Tractor and fuel pump is a holley blue with regulator.

Legal Stuff: I have a clear title to the truck that says it is a 1938 Chevy Pickup. The only part on the entire truck that is off the 38 Chevy is the horn. However it is 100% legal. I currently have Missouri Historic Vehicle plates on it and have it insured and drive it as often as I can. I have taken it on 2 trips of approximately 80 mile round trip. I would not want to go much more than 100 miles and you rear end tends to get numb. Buyer responsible for transportation. I will accept cash, wire transfer and for a 4% fee you Mastercard or Visa. Vehicle is sold as is no warranty!

Answer:

Alan, Like your car, wouldn't mind to trade, however. I am a small business owner and would have to close my business for at least 4 days to drive all the way to your location. I simply do not have the time or resources to do that now. If we could find some mutually agreed upon half way point I would consider it. Sorry for the slow reply. Went racing with a friend Saturday afternoon. I consider all trades, but I need an item number or at the very least some kind of description. Answer:

I am 5'7" You might fit a 6 foot tall person, but you wouldn't be comfortable. But hey you must be a little uncomfortable to be cool, right? Jeff On [2009-07-25 17:15:53] K66 wrote: > Nice truck > Can a six foot tall person fit? how tall are you? > Thanks for your time > Kevin >
