1979 Buick Regal ProStreet car


Car has an older custom paint which is showing some signs of wear, but it still gets lots of looks!
Former Show car! Currently it is setup with a 454 BBC and 6-71 blower and a turbo 350.

I rebuilt the motor over the winter. Got the car running drove it about 200 miles, and one night (April 5th) while in the driveway something broke. Not sure, (haven’t had the heart to look hard) but think it broke the cam. Pulled the valve covers and two push rods are “missing” and the distributor turns by hand. The motor is 0.040 over and had fresh oval port heads. 2.25 int and 1.88 exh. Manley severe duty valves.

I do not have time or interest in this project any longer and need to move it down the road to someone who wants to get it back up and running!

33x18.5 tires on the back, narrowed 9" ford rear end 4.86 gears with a spool. Center Line ConvoPro wheels.

The Griffin Aluminum Radiator and two 12" electric fans were more than enough to keep it cool for a night of cruising. .

2 600cfm Holley carbs, Polished 6-71 which is underdriven for 1-2 lbs of boost. Have several additional (3 or 4) pulleys for up to 15% overdrive (10 lbs. boost??). Was built to run on 87 octane gas.

There is a dual plate NOS system installed which has never been used or tested on this car.

This car was driven regularly on the street for the last several years. Ran a best 1/8 mile before the rebuild of a 7.48. No cage so it was not raced but one time. Belts out of date. I have an older set of slicks with matching rims.
