For anyone with a problem with the war........
It doesn't matter now, why we're there. It only matters that are, and we can't get out. The soldiers there continue to need our support. If you haven't ever served in the military, you forfet your right to critisize. It's easy to say what you would do if you were never in that position. For all who have served, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. I lost another friend last week to this war. I still continue to support the troops and all there efforts. Even though the Army said I'm not healthy enough to deploy, I'm still trying to get back in. I train every day in case someone changes their mind. I was a Sapper when I was in. First in, last out. Ahead of the Marines, ahead of the infantry. To hear, "Sappers Forward" meant our life expectancy just dropped to 17 seconds. I'll do it all again tomorrow if they would let me. Bad mouth my country or the troops, and we're gonna fight!
Career change in the household
No, not me. The wife has signed up for the National Guard. She's going in as an aviation mechanic. That means SHE"LL be the bread winner of the household now. I'm good with that. There's a strong possibility that she can get a job on post here during the week with the civilian company that maintains the birds. She went to M.E.P.S. and did well on the physical and has a ship date in September. That'll give her time to get in shape. Woo Hoo, I finally have someone to do P.T. with! It's kind of exciting. Now, she'll have more flight time than me in Blackhawks. How cool is that?
68 update
After getting into the Chevelle's body work, I found out it's not actually a 68 Chevelle after all. Someone sculpted a 68 Chevelle out of bondo and fiberglass. So far I fixed the frame where it was rotted, and replaced the front clip. I'm working on the cowl and firewall now. This thing is taking so much metal work, it would've been easier to build a street rod from a body that was sitting in a junk for the past 20 years. I'll be working on the floors next and then the doors, 1/4's etc. I just started at the fron bumper and I'm working my way back. By the time I bolt the rear bumper back on, I'll have a brand new 68 Chevelle.| November 2009 | ||||||
