This beautiful second year Nova is a wonderful and fast street car. I am the third owner and have spent a lot of time developing this car into what it is today….fully sorted-out and easy to maintain. It has come time in my life to sell the best street/strip car I have ever owned. I have been drag racing since 1963 and now have reached the age of 70 years and have some heart issues, so now the car needs to go to someone who really appreciates quality.
This car is currently set up to run mid-9s in the quarter at a speed of 145 mph. I just won the 2014 NMCA 9.0 True Street class at the first national race of the year. I was overall runner up in 2013 at this same race. The car, even after a 30 mile street drive required by the class, ran back to back to back three runs all at 144+ mph and times of 9.558; 9.686; and 9.557. This has a stock GM 454 HO hydraulic roller cam, so shifting is at 5600 RPM which matches up well with the street-friendly 3.08 rearend gears. It has never come close to overheating…water or trans. It leaves the line hard with wheels up about 4 inches and has always run straight and easy. Fastest time is 6.010 in the 1/8th and 9.363 in the quarter. The blower is currently set to give about 15 pounds of boost. (Also have a pulley/belt combination for 10 pounds so can run 6.50 index races) Fastest Street Car Magazine did a nice write-up in the July, 2013 issue and I expect a nice picture to be seen in the upcoming FSC issue for 2014.
Also available is a Pace American 24 foot tandem axle trailer and a Yamaha gas golf cart matched to the same paint setup as the car.
