Hughes Performance has developed and released a new Powerglide transmission for Sportsman drag racing applications. This new Powerglide is ideally suited for bracket racing, index racing, and street/strip combinations producing up to 900 flywheel horsepower.

Features of the 28-3-80S Powerglide transmission include the following:

~ Cleaned, prepped, and painted GM transmission case

~ Cleaned, prepped, and painted GM extension housing

~ All new bearings, bushings, seals, gaskets, and sealing rings

~ Full roller bearing construction

~ 4340 forged steel input shaft, your choice of 30 spline (Turbo spline) or 17 spline (OEM Powerglide spline)

~ GM cast iron front pump with resurfaced stator body, lapped pump body, new pump gears, Teflon sealing rings, and Torrington roller thrust bearing

~ 6-clutch drum with premium red racing frictions and heavy duty steels

~ 9310 billet steel clutch hub

~ Kevlar band

~ Billet aluminum dual-ring servo

~ GM servo cover

~ 9310 billet steel straight-cut planetary gear set, 1.80 ratio

~ GM planetary carrier and output shaft

~ Heat treated planetary pins

~ 5 red racing frictions and heavy duty steels in reverse

~ Sportsman Series transbrake valve body, forward shift pattern (P-R-N-2-1), custom pressure regulator, 225 - 235 PSI

~ High flow filter

~ Deep cast aluminum pan, includes drain plug, holds 2 extra quarts of fluid

~ Fully dyno tested to verify line pressure, shift function, and transbrake function
