1959 oldsmobile dynamic 88 2 door sedan car up for sale,371 rocket engine, hydramatic jetaway automatic tranny, all original. This is a extremely rare car,1 of only 16,123 made, and not many left, and you rarely see them up for sale like you will a 1958 or 1960, and most youll see are 4 doors, and is the most prime year in U.S. automotive history, car is all original, and very straight and solid, was never damaged,or repainted, and needs very little body work, most any rust on it was just surface rust, the car is mechanically sound, and runs and drives nicely, i even bought a plate, and registration for it not long ago cause i had planned on driving it in a couple months, all brakes redone, stops on a dime.needs nothing to start driving it.
I bought the car to restore, and have spent my spare time the whole summer stripping the car down to bare metal, the only thing left to strip pretty much is the the driver's side fender, the hood, and some on the doors, just finish stripping, and its ready to complete the body work, and be painted, i found a parts car earlier in summer, and had them cut out the few areas that needed repaired so the few areas that need repaired could be repaired with patches that are original and original shape, so nothing much needs fabricated, i have everything needed to finish the job, the only thing i didnt get around to getting was the 3 floor pans it needs replaced, they are only 65 dollars a piece online, floor is very solid, its just the pans, easy fix.Has original rims and hubcaps.
i have all nice chrome molding for the car, and nice grille, and lettering, most was in nice shape, and what wasnt i bought from parts cars that were in great shape so all chrome molding is complete, and i polished most of it all up and is ready to install, i also bought the rocker panel chrome mouldings and fender mouldings from a super 88 to install on it if you wish, the only thing lacking in the chrome department is the bumpers, the rear is solid and decent but pitted, and the front one, needs a few of the sections replaced, i wasnt going to bother with them and just find a couple good used ones and just replace them, but all else is good and complete.
The only thing ragged out on this car was the interior, i stripped it all out, i have the seats and their in good shape but need covers, it will need a rug, headliner, package tray, seat covers, and door panels, i have the door panels, they are useable, but youd want new ones,SMS interiors will make a complete set of door panels for 495, and passenger side window is cracked, not expensive.its just a rectangle, ive priced it all out, and you can put a new interior in it for under 2 grand no problem. I have all the interior hardware and mouldings complete and in good shape, everything is there to put it back together, just need the main interior parts listed above.
I was going to finish restoring it over the next couple months or so, but ended up coming across a car i always wanted but never thought id ever be able to get my hands on, so i took the money i had to finish this car and bought the other car, so now i have no money to finish the oldsmobile, so it must go in order to do something with the other one, this car runs and drives and is ready to drive once painted and put back together, all it needs is the little body work finished, and painted, and put back together, and an interior put in it, and youll have a prime first class vintage car.
This is a very simple car and its very easy to work on,and not that much work to finish this car, your looking at just giving the engine bay a detailing,an interior, two bumpers, and a fresh set of tires, and 3 floor pans, everything else is there and in nice shape., you could easily finish this car beautifully for 5k-6k range, or less depending on how nice you want to make it, and much cheaper if you can do the work yourself like i can. Ive done a lot of hard work on this car, and countless hours stripping it with poly wheels, so most all the hard nasty work is done, so it saves you a ton of labor on the paint job.Theres way to much to talk about with the car on here without writing a novel, so if interested please e-mail me for my number and we can talk on the phone.
Asking 14,000, i have some wiggle room on price if your serious, but forget about low balling, it aint happening, all i can say is make me a reasonable offer and maybe we can work something out, thank you. This is a prime vintage rare car and will be worth 22k-25k range and climbing when done as is, ive seen ones go for 35k-50k that were really decked out, so what im asking leaves you way more than enough room to finish it and still have a good bit less in it than what it will be worth. Pics of yellow car are how i was going to have it painted, and how it looks all together except the custom grille. e-mail me for phone number if youd like the rest of the details. thank you
Accepted I may consider a partial trade plus cash for an old school 1973,74,75,76,77,78,79 chevy truck, or blazer, how much i would give you for it would depend on what shape its in, and if theres any extras like a lift kit, and big tires and such. been thinking about a truck for winter so id be open to it. But it has to be something thats driveable and doesnt need anything major, and in decent shape, i wouldnt mind if it needs some minor things, but i wouldnt be interested in a complete project or basket case.
