1950's Kellison ? Cpe Vintage drag race
Another of our uncommon treasures that have been packed away for several years, that is now available,, Since turning 70, my family is now encouraging me to sell many of my cars
This will make a great street rod or Lakes car with a Track-T nose
c. 1960 Coupe believed to be Kellison? Prototype
Over the years, we have owned about a dozen various Kellisons. We found this car tucked away in Broadway Virginia, along with the owner's Jan 2 , 1960 letter from Kellison Dealer, Dynamic Specialties in Michigan. We are unable as yet to certify that this is a Kellison , but it surely appears to be such in design, and in use, as Kellisons were primarily drag and landspeed cars, and this is definitely a vintage race car from that period.
We had this car shipped to our race shop several years ago, thinking it might eventually be converted to Vintage Road Racing .
It needs complete restoration
Split windshield appears to be 39 Ford truck, and is easily sourced flat glass.
Competition chassis is well thought out
102" wheelbase 68" to outside of tires
Solid front axle. .......... complete rear suspension 5x4 1/2 bolt pattern
The original Motor and trans are long gone
The Track-T nose is NOT included in the sale it is only shown as an example of what it could look like, if finished in the Bonnevile style of the day.
Black 'racing' striping still appears faintly.
This is a great example of early American fiberglass coupes and it is unlikely you will ever see another like it
Hot Rodders might have seen this drag car in old Hot Rod magazines.
Also available is a good running 1955 Packard 352cu" V8 260/275/hp with transmission for $1600
Packard, Chrysler Hemi, and Cadillac led the horsepower race in the mid 50's and the Packard was the choice of many Hot Rodders of the day
It is not included with the car, and is available only with the purchase of the car
The chassis is scheduled to be blasted in January and restoration begun, if not sold, and price will be adjusted accordingly
