$6000 without the driver seat, harness and side mounts! Current 2016 NASA Logbook

This is a car we personally built and it was issued its 1st NASA logbook on September 12, 2013. It completed its 1st race weekend September 13-14, 2013 with NASA in PTF class. In 2014 it was changed over to a PTE and TTE car (less weight & more mods possible). It ran in several NASA races in 2014 and 2015. It has now run 4 weekends racing in 2016 and is ready to hit the track to run its next race!

This car body style has been made in Mexico for 25 years and a brand new 2016 model can be bought today so parts availability is still huge (which is really nice being able to buy a $10 control arm from Rock Auto as an example) Another super cheap example is a pair of replacement front fenders can be purchased for $109 shipped on ebay.

Most recently in September the following had been changed:

- Replacement front bumper cover and support (painted white to match)
- Replacement front passenger fender (painted white to match)
- Replacement front passenger corner light (lights will all be taped over per race rules as an FYI)

The following had just been done in August 2016:

- New front subframe
- New front control arms
- New offset Poly Caster bushings from Whiteline on the new front control arms
- New Energy Suspension bushings installed in the new front control arms
- New driver side axle (with Redline CV-2 grease inside the boots)

June 2016 before the NASA Gingerman event:

- Replaced front rotors and pads

Between October 2015 and April 2016 it underwent an overhaul with many changes so those changes are as follows:

- Newly installed re-manufactured steering rack from a 91-94 SE-R with lifetime warranty from The Rack Doctor
- New Red Poly Steering rack bushings
- New driver side hub and wheel bearing
- New passenger side axle and wheel bearing
- New driver side rear hub/wheel bearing combo
- New radiator hoses
- New 2.5" free flow muffler installed (to allow it to run at all tracks in USA without concern of dB limits)
- Replaced failed driver side SS brake line (Goodridge)
- Replaced engine with 99k mile engine out of an automatic car (new water pump and hoses before re-install into car)
- New clutch installed while replacing the engine (6 puck sprung clutch)
- 2 STACK analog mechanical gauges installed for Water Temp and Oil Pressure (replaced Autometer gauges)
- Fresh new Redline MT-90 in transmission
- New Power steering fluid
- New factory LSD unit installed in transmission
- All New Red Poly Motor Mount bushings installed

The rest of the details on the car are as follows:

- Approximately 160,000 miles on the chassis now (155,xxx miles were on the odo before being turned into a dedicated track car)
- Custom Tig welded 1.75" and .095 6 point cage (will pass SCCA or NASA tech) with NASCAR door bars on Driver Side
- Cage and car painted white (makes for easier repairs from track damage to rattle can white spot fix)
- Carbon Fiber hood for weight savings with Aerocatch hood latches
- Mishimoto Aluminum 2-row radiator (for optimum cooling)
- Fidenza lightweight flywheel
- Custom power steering cooler
- Strut bar
- custom re-valved by Anze, Ksport RoadRace coilover suspension utilizing 600 front and 550 rear springs
- Goodridge SS brake lines at all 4 corners
- ARP longer wheel studs all 4 corners
- AD22VF front brake calipers using 257mm vented rotors with 1995 Infiniti G20 rear calipers and 258mm rotors
(currently Hawk Blue race pads in front just replaced 6/24/16, HAWK HPS on rear)
- 2.5" SSAC header and downpipe with custom 2.5" exhaust going into 2.5" free-flow muffler
- Custom mounted Sparco Circuit containment seat (expires December 31st, 2018) currently fits both 6'2" driver and 5'9" driver
- Sparco 6 point harness (expires December 31, 2018)
- Ultrashield window net (good through 2018 as well)
- Longacre quick release 13" aluminum steering wheel
- Optima red-top battery has been relocated to the trunk (right rear for better weight distribution)
- Keyed ignition has been removed so it is push button start
- Rear side windows have been replaced with plexiglass with an air intake on the passenger side (oem glass still available to go with the car if requested)
- Front door glass is setup for install while transporting on an open trailer for easier dry transport in rain
- Comes with 4 15" wheels with used 205 50 15 Toyo R888s tires seen in thes photo displayed here
- Wired for cool suit power (actual cool suit system is NOT included)
- Wired for radio communication (actual radio system itself will NOT be included but antenna can be left for new owner on request)
- Wired for AMB (actual AMB transponder is NOT included)
- Wired for TraqDash (actual Traqdash system is NOT included)

The car has been gutted to get down to current competition weight of 2320 with 190lb driver. PLEASE NOTE This includes removal of heater core and A/C along with welding closed the holes on the firewall so there is no open holes to the cabin. Factory dash is still in place.

This car has its NASA Annual Tech for 2016 as already mentioned. There was a test shakedown day 4/2/2016 and potential buyer can cut n paste the YouTube video from that day here (note this video is before the muffler was added and 1st 2 laps were on cold older tires on a 38 degree day):


IMPORTANT NOTE that I currently have this titled in my name and there are headlights, directional signals and even horn still present for technically legal street use here in Illinois BUT I currently do NOT have it plated or insured because we transport it on our trailer to/from the racetrack at this time and the front lights are covered with tape per rules so headlights and front directional signals would not even be usable right now (and I don't believe there are any bulbs in the front right now either).

it has participated in 4 NASA race weekends this year, the 1st being MidOhio in April with the 2nd being Road America in May with podium finishes each race. 3rd was Gingerman June 25th and 26th and finished 2nd out of 8 cars in class in its last race there. Most recently it ran at MidOhio in August in both PTE and TTE and finished 2nd out of 10 in class in TTE.
