Up for sale is a rare find, non Spec E30. 1989 325iS race car. Stroker engine with 12 hours, highly reliable race car.
This is a purpose-built, non-street legal race car designed for the National Auto Sport Association Performance Touring Series.
It is raced in the Norcal series including Thunderhill, Sonoma Raceway and Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. It has multiple 3, 2nd and first place finishes under its belt. If you want to get in to racing, this would be a great first car.
This is a goo-gone, microfiber hand wash and wax after each race car, not a power wash car. I keep it in my garage under a cover, all the time
It is built to be a NASA Performance Touring D car, and it is very competitive and prepped with the max number of points allowed in the D class (19 Points). One could take out the 150lbs of ballast and make it a NASA GTS-2 car very easily. I run it as PTD since there are more cars in that class in Northern California.
In NorCal, I race it against RX-7, RX-8, Miata and even a few Chevy Cobalts.
I qualified 5th of 9 at the Laguna Seca West Coast Champs, where position 3-6 were all getting 1:46.x so had a shot for 3rd in the race. At the NorCal regional race at Thunderhill August 30th she managed a 1st place both Saturday and Sunday with 7+ heat cycle Hoosier R7’s racing against PTD Miata cars.
The car has been built to be highly reliable and has proven itself to be. I have never had to end a race due to a mechanical or electrical failure. It is turn-key and go – so if you are looking for a no-hassle PTD car for your region, she is ready to go!

13 hours on a Brand New, crate motor Metric Mechanic 2.9 Liter bored and stroked M20. That translates to less than 2,000 miles. Optional parts for the engine were the Baffle for oil pump and high end rods extras. The engine is incredible, smooth, torquey, and gets lots of compliments on the sound (things like the 12% increase in headflow really make the M20 sound different than stock). Burns ZERO oil even after 2 race weekends. I run 10w-60 Castrol or Redline 15-50. I recommend checking out

Custom Miller Tunable software. The software is free, so with the hardware in the car and the cable I would give you, you can remap the software any way you like it.
It’s tuned pretty lightly as-is with 178WHP. You could likely squeeze 185WHP out of it if you want to run more expensive fuel with higher timing advance
It fits perfect in PTD with 178RWP with 2685# as the dyno reclass minimum. With 175lb driver, the installed ballast can complete a 30 minute race and come in at
2690#, which gives you 5lbs to spare.
5Lb Halon fire protection system with routing to the engine bay, and two nozzles for the driver .
Nets, seat and 6 points seat belt harness are 2014 FIA, so are good for another 3 years

Front 315MM Wilwood rotors have only 10 heat cycles. It is the big brake kit from Ireland Engineering with the 6 Piston Calipers. The pads are the softest compound Wilwood makes and have only 2 races on them. The brakes are amazing.

Ground Control coil over kit with 800# springs in rear and 650# in the front. I’ve tried several combinations and this is the best set up. Camber adjust in front.

Ireland Engineering both Camber and Toe adjust kits for the rear along with AKG’s stiffest sub-frame bushings and the 12mm offset differential. This alone is a $2.5k which modernizes the rear-suspension

$2000 AIM MXL II. This is a great device and has been very reliable. All info in one gauge for a clutter-free interior. It is wired for Air/Fuel, Water Temp, Oil pressure, GPS Speed and track location, Predictive lap times, accurate shift point lighting so you know exactly when to shift. AIM Software and updates are free for life – so all you need to do is get their software on your laptop and plug in the USB since the device is already installed in the car.

Likely the cleanest performance touring car in the country
I am selling only because I have won a few races in PTD and want to try up a class in power and field size to see if I can win there. This is an excellent car, no impending issues.
Extra set of 16x7 Superleggeras with never-used Hoosier A6 also included (these tires would make it a PTC car with points, so you can use them for a practice day or whatever to use up the tires).
