Description

Selling an original 427 / 390 hsp BBC and Muncie M20 4 speed transmission, and associated parts. I have owned this combination since 2007 and was originally going to utilize, and preserve the arrangement in my 69 Camaro. I have changed directions since then, and I do feel it should be used in any of my other project vehicles due to what it is. I purchased it from an individual in the area where I live that still owns the original 69 Corvette that the combination came from (the vin. is stamped on the block and transmission case). I know it sounds unreasonable that the Vette was split up, but he was going to install an LS / Tremec 5 spd combo. I talked to him and he still has the car, but never installed the late model drivetrain. The Vette is for sale and if anyone has an interest in the car, email me through Racing Junk your contact information and I can provide him your information to call you.
He had the motor machined / balanced (he built the shortblock, installed the heads /cam, and stopped there), and heads were rebuilt locally in 1999 as well as the transmission rebuilt by Drivetrain Specialties in Grand Junction. I do not know the brand and specs of the cam, but he told me it was the factory 390 hp grind.
I am selling everything that I received from him and through research I have discovered that possibly there are some brackets that maybe missing or are extra and this includes the crank pulleys. I have still not figured out how to properly set up the pulleys and brackets. You will see some of the pulleys / brackets as well as the head bolts are chromed and the some of the pieces in bare metal. This is due to him owning a chrome shop at that time and did not complete chroming the bare items which have surface rust with exception of the oil pan (thick rust, but could be glass beaded. I without doubt suggest that the shortblock and heads be disassembled / cleaned, and reassembled. Additional detail photos available upon request.
