1996 E36 BMW 328i Sedan – BimmerWorld-Built Track Day Car (Excellent Starting Point for Racecar Build)
Transformed by BimmerWorld from a tired road car into an E36 track day machine in 2013, completely refreshed mechanically, and built with the mindset of becoming a full racecar. Car was driven about 2,000 miles since transformation, including 3 track days this year. ~190,000 miles on chassis. Over $14,000 in parts receipts and over $6,000 in BimmerWorld labor receipts. Ready to go as a safe, reliable and fun track day car, or a great base for a racecar (BMWCCA, NASA, SCCA, etc.).

BimmerWorld sourced and installed the following parts in 2012/2013:

Engine overhauled and tuned:
Strong 2.8 liter M52 inline-6 motor installed, new head gasket
New OEM radiator, water pump, thermostat, belts, BW silicon hoses
SPAL electric fan
Baffled oil pan
Drilled and secured oil pump nut
E36 stage II fuel starvation kit (dual fuel pumps)
EPIC Motorsports custom software
BimmerWorld full custom race exhaust
Alternate custom bolt-on “quiet” muffler and cat for tracks with noise restrictions
Dyno results: 181.36 peak WHP at ~5,450rpm and 193.12 peak ft-lbs torque at ~4,100rpm
Fresh Red Line 15W50 oil

Drivetrain overhauled and enhanced:
Fresh 3.15 OEM limited slip differential
Fresh ZF 5-speed manual gearbox (auto to manual conversion)
New BimmerWorld Stage-4 Ceramic 6-puck clutch, master cylinder, slave cylinder, ss clutch line
BimmerWorld Solid Race Shifter, weighted knob
New Guibo/flex disc
Red Line D4 ATF transmission fluid, Red Line 75W90 gear oil

Chassis overhauled and reinforced:
New front control arms, tie rod assemblies
Delrin offset control arm busings
Solid engine and transmission mounts, with spacers
Solid aluminum front and rear subframe and differential mounts
Front and rear subframe/chassis reinforcements, rear trailing arm pocket reinforcements
Shock/strut tower reinforcement plates
New rear wheel bearings
New HD front sway bar links
Powerflex rear trailing arm bushings
ISC N1 coilover suspension
Aligned and corner balanced (50.31% LF/RR weight dist. w/ 150lb in driver’s seat)

New rotors
Solid caliper guide bushings
Performance Friction 08-compound racing brake pads
Stainless steel brake lines
Motul 600 brake fluid

Wheels and interior:
Kirk 4-point bolt-in roll bar
2 new OMP ARS black race seats, billet aluminum seat floor mount adapters
2 new Schroth Profi-II 6-point 3” black harnesses
4 Volk RE30 17x8 track wheel setup (currently mounted with 225/45 17 Conti Challenge takeoffs)
4 OEM 16” wheels (with new Dunlop Direzza 225/50 16 tires)
BimmerWorld solid race shifter w/ weighted shift knob

Very solid, lightened and refreshed machine. Interior is stripped of carpet, headliner, radio, A/C, handbrake and rear seats. Solid bodywork, but exterior could use new paint, rubber seals and overall a bit of TLC. Further weight reduction potential (wiring loom, doorcards, heater core, etc). The car weighs 2,736lbs with stock wheels/tires and some fuel, but without driver. I’ve probably missed a few things – if you would like more info, send a PM with your email address requesting a detailed spreadsheet and paperwork.

Located on Long Island. Asking $9k obo.
