Several years ago Tim Barnett approached friend Mike Bowery (Eliminator Products) about filling the need in the 429 460 market for a new iron performance 460 head. Primarily Tim Barnett wanted something for the truck pulling and hot street application. The need was great as no one but Eliminator was making factory valve angle iron heads. The heads Mike was producing was more for industrial application then anything. Tim Barnett ported a set of Mikes industrial heads to see what they could do, and the numbers were good but not good enough. Mike decided to build a totally different head and have it be more like the original CJ heads. Tim Barnett helped supply several CJ ports to Mike for making patterns and helped check market to see if these type of heads would be good. The EX 514 head currently unavailable was the only iron 460 performance head being made. Mike and Tim together with several smart guys got together and made many improvements of the original heads in performance, durability and user friendliness. Mike got ideas from other guys to also produce a iron A460 type head. Mike decided that was a ok idea and at the last second decided a genius idea of making an A460 heads with still factory valve angles. The reason many racing classes state heads have to be factory replacement and some say factory valve angles only. This opened up a whole different power level available to these heads. A460 has larger intakes ports and manifolds with more volume then the standard CJ intake manifolds.
Now a long time later these heads are here. First castings have been done Tim Barnett has tested different valve jobs and different valves for both industrial and performance application and the flow and quality is Great!
