This is Trans am campaigned Mustang is in top flight condition. Poncho Weaver a well known chassis builder built this particular car for Claudio Burtin. Some of you might recognize it from when it was raced as the “Line-X” Car. Claudio owned the car till 2009 when I bought the car and fully updated and brought into today’s race standard by ProFab race cars. This is one of the few Chrome-Moly chassis that were built. It is a 4-Link set up with all the Riley-Scott chassis configurations. The chassis has never been hurt or had tubes replaced or straighten. It is a well built chassis with carbon interior panels, Titanium heat protection panels with removable alloy floor. It is currently set up to run the BIG Goodyears. I have raced the car in many National’s, Major’s and Pro Tran Am races. It is the current track record holder at Portland International for SCCA and ISCCS in both track configurations. Also the car has held the pole in GT1 trim in the Oldest Race west of the Mississippi the “Rose Cup” for the last four years and won the Rose Cup 3 times.
Currently it has a Roush Yates 358 D3 Nascar Cup motor. It is rated at 825 hp, and is in top running conditions. Fully dry sump with a Verde pump and Yates Holley custom carburetor and intake. It comes with 2 complete Weisman shuttle shift 5 speed gear boxes, plus enough spare to build a third gear box and at least 35 gears sets. The rear end is a 9” Winters alloy center section and Strange third member with light weight REM finished ring and pinion. Plus a complete second matching third member fresh. Brand New Speedway crowned axles just installed.
Every Nut and Bolt has been replaced in the last 24 months with all aircraft/military grade NAS hardware. All heim joints and monoballs have been replaced and suspension components MAG checked. Hubs were all replaced, with new ones from Weaver. They are the center lock Riley style. Drive line was also just replaced with a stronger one for the more HP than the car originally was built for. All Penske shocks have been rebuilt and serviced regularly by Chris Billings from the Shock Shop. When we built this car we did full chassis dynamics and measured all points, and suspension pickups. In March 13’ I installed a brand new Fuelsafe cell and all new lines and pumps.
On the interior a Stohr full carbon seat was installed, I am 6’ and 200lbs and it fits perfect for me. Custom Carbon dash with all aircraft grade switches and Autometer pro gauges. Full Aim Pista MXL data system, with GPS add on feature. I will include all my data for comparison. We also have taken detailed notes and records, which come with the car. Also included is a cool suit system and helmet blower.
The body is a Roush style Mustang body. It is very low drag, with a Derhaag Carbon rear wing, GT1/ Trans Am legal. It comes with a hood, front complete nose, both side panels and rear bumper extra. It is all carbon/Kevlar bodywork. I have added Carbon hood wheel vents to the main hood, which helped down force. It is also equipped with HRP airjacks, and includes the air lance. I would not have a TA car without them.
This is a full compete package, with lots of running spares including: 4 sets of wheels (2 BBS and 2 Weld), New rains tires, extra Carbotech brakes, rotors, fuel pumps, hardware, axels, rear housing, third member, radiator, oil heat exchanger, starter, rack, sway bars and lots more!! An extra complete Roush 358 engine could be available for an additional cost.
This is a turn-key complete race car. Lots of running spares, and all the right parts to be competitive. This car will run with the newest and fastest TA cars in the country. I am happy to provide all set up details and information.
