For Sale: 1998 Ferrari F355 F1
This beautiful car is a 1998 Ferrari 355 Berlinetta with the optional F1 transmission. It has only 15,632 miles with an excellent maintenance history (2,200 miles since full engine out service). It is in mint condition throughout and represents the Ferrari mystique in all its glory.
The 355 design looks as spectacular now as when introduced in 1994. It is a visual feast, especially when finished in Modena Yellow like this example. Its paint and bodywork are all impeccable, a product of both light use and great care. It's one of those cars that will draw stares and cell phone cameras just sitting still.
There is much more to the 355 than good looks though. Its heart is an aluminum 3.5L V8 engine that produces 375hp (more than 100 hp per liter). With its overhead cams and five valves per cylinder, it can reach an outrageous 8,500 rpm. It incorporates a plethora of racing technology including a dry sump oiling system and titanium connecting rods. Note the exhaust on this car is in excellent condition with no leaks.
Beyond the engine is the revolutionary F1 transmission. This $12,500 option emulates the system Ferrari used in its hugely successful Formula 1 program. It provides paddle shifting at the steering wheel for quick and consistent gear selection. This is not to be confused with a conventional paddle-shifted automatic transmission; this is essentially a manual transmission but with a computer-controlled hydraulic clutch and gearbox. An automatic mode is available if you want a more leisurely ride.
The interior of this car is all black and a wonderful complement to the yellow exterior. Everything is in excellent condition. The Connolly leather seats look, feel, and smell great. The headliner, carpet, and door panels are fantastic. And the dash and center console are excellent with no sticky parts. There is a Sony stereo with iPhone hookup. The installation was done with an adapter harness so the original unit (included) can be easily re-installed.
This Ferrari includes the tool kit, leather manual holder, and tire inflation kit. There are three keyfobs, a battery tender, and a copy of the original window sticker showing $156,715. Making this a great way to be the benefactor of nearly $100k in depreciation and have a like-new Ferrari to show for it.
