We've just finished machining and assembling this stroked short block. Designed to be fitted with LS3-style cylinder heads, it's ready to ship. With CNC ported heads and a good cam, this engine will make over 600HP naturally-aspirated, be reliable and street-able. It can certainly handle power-adders, if more horsepower is what you want.
All the blocks we touch are finish-machined on our 4-axis Rottler CNC mill which boasts precision of 0.0002 in and 0.001 degree. The video shows it going through a probe cycle which is how it measures the block dimensions and compares to theoretical factory blueprint.
Our Fentech computer balancer allows us to ensure that the rotating assembly is balanced to less than 1 gram-in deviation.
The one aspect of finish machining that we keep old-school is stone honing. We prefer the finish of the traditional stone hones over the modern CNCs using diamond cutters.
If you want to make power, you need to make sure it will hold together. Factory-style powdered metal rods, cast rotating assembly? Bad idea! You need quality-made forged parts like the ones lined up for you below:
