The Dart SHP LS Next is the newest in Dart's line of LS Next engines blocks. Building on the success of the earlier generations, the SHP adds the convenience of directly bolting on GM covers and accessories without requiring oil spacer rails and remote oil filter adapters.

LS Next Features
Retains all of the LS Next designs features not found in competing blocks including but not limited to:
- Longer cylinder sleeves,
- Priority main oiling
- 4 bolt splayed main saddle structural
This 427 cubic inch short block has a 4.125 in bore and 4.00 in stroke. The dimensions are set with SCAT 4340 forged crank and matching SCAT H-Beam rods.
SCAT forged, 58-tooth reluctor wheel crankshafts are designed for street or race engines with substantially increased horsepower. SCAT crankshafts are precision-ground, heat-treated, shot-peened, inspected, and micro-polished at SCAT for superior tolerance control. SCAT crankshafts are also nitride-hardened for superior wear resistance, have straight-shot and chamfered oil holes, and feature lightening holes in all rod throws. These crankshafts also have a large radius on all journals for improved strength and wear resistance.
These H-beam connecting rods are the strongest SCAT connecting rods available. These SCAT H-beam connecting rods are perfect for supercharged and nitrous applications. These rods incorporate a special doweled cap for specific cap-to-rod alignment and are profiled with extra clearance for stroker applications.
Topping off the rotating assembly are Diamond's new R Series pistons which are machined with their newest and most precise CNCs. Among their features :
- 3D milling on piston crowns for ready to install finish
- Valve pockets designed to work with most aftermarket cylinder heads
- Offset pins for quiet operation
- Moly skirt coating for friction loss and skirt wear protection
- Side gas ports for better ring seal
- 2618 material for High HP-NOS-Boost applications
