Trailer Toad LLC has two models to choose from:
The 3500HD and the 5000SD.
The 3500HD and the earlier, smaller versions has been in production for over 7 years and is working for over 800 satisfied customers.
The newest Trailer Toad is the 5000SD. On the market for a little over a year. We were getting requests for a Trailer Toad that would handle the 2000+ pound tongue weights of the two-car "stacker trailers" and concession trailers that haul heavy loads and spend a lot of time on the highway. The 5000SD accomplishes that and has the large wheel bearings and hubs of a 6000-lb axle.
If you tow with a motor home and you want to protect it from damages and improve ride quality then the Trailer Toad is the tool you need. The Trailer Toad carries the tongue weight on it's own suspension, it "steers", so it follows you down the road and through the corners. No excess drag and a smoother ride is the first thing you will notice.
Your motor home will survive the rough highways better because the frame isn't getting over-stressed, the side walls are not flexing where it is attached to the floor or supports, the slide-out openings will not crack and lead to alignment and operation issues with the slide-outs. The motor home will stay level in hard-braking situations and this means you stop in a much shorter distance than you would if the rear of the coach was pushed down and the front became light, like it does without the Trailer Toad.
The 3500HD:
Was designed for tag-style (bumper pull) trailers weighing up to 15,000 lbs with tongue weights of 500 to 1500 pounds. This covers most single-car enclosed and open trailers in use today.
The 5000SD:
Was designed for tag-style (bumper pull) trailers with a weight of 10,000 to 20,000 lbs and tongue weights of 1000 to 3000 pounds. This covers all but the most extreme multi-car stacker trailers in use today. The 5000SD does have it's limits so if you know you have a very heavy trailer, get it weighed at a truck scale with just the tongue jack on the scale and then the entire trailer on the scale. Knowing your exact trailer weight is critical ro towing safely.

Spare tire on steel wheel with custom tire cover.
Heavy-duty 15" 6-lug, powder-coated steel wheels are standard equipment.
Super-Duty, pre-wired extension cord with standard 7-blade RV connections
Frame is sand-blasted, dip-primered, bake dried and then powder-coated.
Plastic fenders are durable yet forgiving if struck by something on the road.
All attaching hardware is Grade 8 and finished in a corrosion resistant yellow-zinc.
