I have had fun building this car but I am decided I want to go a different direction now. Most of the hard work is done already. All that remains is several nit picking things....
As for the exterior it is all steel except the hood which is a Harwood 4" Fiberglass hood ( $400 alone ). It is painted in Dupont Nason Boyd Red and just a random GM silver I picked from a color chip book. It was just painted last winter. Took a whole weekend to buff it out. It has a lexan windshield and the rear side windows are lexan too. It has Weld Draglite wheels all around. The rear hatch opens and closes just as it should.
As for the interior it still retains the stock steel floor in the front. It has a removeable trans tunnel via dzus fasteners. The rear floor is thin sheet metal with aluminum wheel tubs. When we got the car it still had the stock dash but we cut all of that out and replaced it with a Jegs aluminum dash and all Autometer gauges. It has a RJRC/Quartermax steering column and a Grant wheel with 2 microswitches and a quick disconnect. It has a Painless overhead switch panel mounted to the roll bar. It has a B&M Pro Ratchet shifter mounted on a RJRC/Quartermax shifter mount. The door panels are skinned over with the same thin sheet metal that was used on the rear floor and they still retain the stock roll up windows. It will come with a Kirkey aluminum seat ( 15" ) mounted to a slide track to fit different size drivers and a set of G Force harnesses but I think they might be expired. You can send them to G Force and get them recertified for like $75.
As for the chassis it is all stock front end but it has the 5 lug front conversion. It does need front shocks and the front brakes need to be rebuilt and plumbed. It would be a good idea if the wheel bearings were replaced at that time too. I have a master cylinder that will go with the car. The car is backhalved with round mild steel tubing and we ran round bars from the backhalf that extend all the way up to just behind the front wheels that weld to the unibody to add to the strength and rigidity of the chassis. It has a Ford 9" narrowed rear and with 4.56 Pro Gears and a Strange full spool with Moser axles ( If I remember correctly they are 31 spline ) and they were upgraded to 5/8" studs. It has ladder bar w/ coil over rear suspension and a disk brake kit I bought from Ebay. It also has a 14 point mild steel cage.
As for the drivetrain that consists of a SBC 406 2 bolt main, cast Eagle crank, stock GM rods, Speed Pro 10.5:1 flat tops, World Products cast heads ( 2.02/1.60 stainless valves) I had the heads built by Speedway Motors to match the cam specs, Comp .650 lift cam, Comp pushrods, Generic 1.7 ratio roller rockers I bought off Ebay the intake is a generic copy of a Team G I got off Ebay and a 750 Holley carb. It has a Pete Jackson noisy gear drive. It has 1/2" braided stainless fuel line from the tank to carb. It also has an MSD Pro Billet distrubutor and MSD 6AL and a 3 Step box. There is also a Jegs aluminum radiator installed with an electric cooling fan, Weiand electric water pump and a B&M trans cooler with braided stainless lines. EVERYTHING is new in this engine except the block and rods. All the internals were balanced when I built the engine. All machine work was done by Halls Machine in Sweeny, TX. They have been doing my stuff for years and I wouldn't trust anything of mine to anyone else in this area. It hasn't been started yet. Speaking of which it will come with a mini hi torque starter I bought from O'Reilly. It is backed by a TH350 that has less than 25 runs on it. I'm no transmission man but I had it built by a buddy of mine that is really knowledgable on transmissions. It has a 10" 3500 Jegs stall ( I think TCI makes them for Jegs ). I have a Strange built moly driveshaft that will go with the car but it's too long. I tried to get it shoretened but no driveline shops in my area weld moly so I just had a steel one made. The driveshaft was another $400. It has front runners and M/T slicks ( don't remember the exact size but I think they are 31x13 ).
This would make a great starter bracket car for someone. I hope I went into enough detail for everyone. I wanted to do that to try and disclose everything so hopefully there will be no surprises for the potential buyer. As i said earlier let me know if there are any questions as I am so sure I missed plenty. There has been a shit ton of work put into this car over 2 years to get it to this point but I am forced to sell it due to my dad having declining health and not being able to help me finish it. I know it wasn't built with 100% top shelf parts but there is no junk here either so please be serious about your inquiries. PLEASE SERIOUS INQUIRIES ONLY!!! NO TIRE KICKERS!!! CASH IS KING!!!
