We have a nice very well built ¾ tube chassis 79 Chevy Camaro that was home built (on a jig) and is a a great car for a beginner or bracket racing or 8.50 index or even 7.50 index racing the weight is 2850 lbs with SB Chevy and 180 lb driver.60 fts are low 120’s and currently runs 9.60’s on motor and has never been sprayed. Ladder bar rear suspension with QA1 adjustable coil over shocks and wheelie bars
GM 10 bolt 8.5 rear with Moser eng. spool and 33 spline axles, Richmond 4.88 gears Willwood rear brakes
Weld wheel 15x12 rims with 33x10.5 W Micky Thompson slicks (36 passes since new)
Aluminum Ed Quay rear wing and parachute Car is all steel l except for the fiberglass lift off 8” cowl hood and fiberglass trunk lid. The steel nose and fully gutted steel doors are removable
Lexan side and rear widows
Front suspension has chrome molly upper and lower control arm, QA1 adjustable coil over shocks, Manual steering rack and Strange front disc brakes, engine is moved back about 6” with front and mid motor plates
Weld wheel fronts 15x3.5 with front runners (36 passes since new)
Up front is The 3 gallon fuel cell and Magna fuel 500 fuel pump, removable aluminum radiator with electric fan.
Interior is set up with
Kirky alum seat, aftermarket steering column with quick release steering wheel, Auto meter gauges and Tack, over head switch panel with separate nitrous controls B&M ratchet 3 speed shifter.
For electronics we have a very nicely wired MSD ignition with 3 step, Launch RPM dial and Rpm activation switch. Wired for NOS and MSD retard system. ARC relay panel
Trans mission is a full comp manual valve body Turbo 350 with Pro trans brake SFI ultra bell and SFI shield. 9” Nos converter up to 300 hp shot
Engine is a 400 cid 18 degree small block Chevy built by us here at DGRE
Dart Iron Eagle block, scat 4340 forged crank, Eagle h beam rods with upgraded L-19 bolts, Forged JE 2.5 cc dome 18 degree piston, assembly is balanced, Custom ground 7-4 swap roller cam, Comp cams offset roller lifters. Comp belt drive, ATI balancer, GM 363 18 degree heads fully ported, Dell West 2.150 int/1.600 ex titanium valves, Manley Nextec springs, titanium retainers, Jesel Pro series 1.6/1.55 shaft rockers, GM 2 pc fully ported intake. ( The carb in the picture is not the carb that comes with the car) Holly 1250 Ultra HP dominator ($1100.00 carb) Intake is drilled for 2 foggers that’s plugged but comes with NOS big Shot plate system. MSD distributor, CSI elec water pump, Moroso Billet aluminum alt bracket and super mini 1 wire alternator. Moroso full kick out oil pan with Melling Select oil pump.
Engine started out as brand new not freshened up. Has 36 all motor passes and has never been sprayed. Was also dynoed and has 10 dyno pulls on it This is a mild build and was built to go rounds and many passes. Very reliable. Made 660 HP@7400 RPM 530 TQ@5900 RPM It would not take much to up the power on this to over 700 Hp.
The engine and trans are available separately but the roller needs to sell first.
The engine with accessories cost more alone than what the customer is looking to get for the whole car
