The following racing operation is for sale due to health issues I am having. I have raced this car for 23 years and it has won a lot of races, is fun to drive and a crowd pleaser. (Ford crowd pleaser anyway) Not sure which is more entertaining, the car or some of the stupid stuff the driver has pulled thru the years! LOL
This is not a $50K factory built 7 or 8 second car for $25K. What it is, is a $25K home built low 10 second car for $12K. (actually I am not sure you could build the drive train for what I am asking for the turn key car.
Thank You. Joe Robertson, Meade, KS - 620-655-2274
Here comes the list:

1978 Ford Fairmont 2dr sedan
Rectangular tube chassis, 4 link rear 9" Ford w/4:56 gears, MW spool and axles, Modified Datsun front struts, 4 wheel disc brakes, Weld wheels, Hoosier 14x32 slicks, aluminum interior(well worn but still usable) MSD 6a ignition and distributor, brand new MSD plug wires, single 175gph Holley pump(3 months old) Delay box, MSD 2 step(no throttle stop) , Ford C6 tranny w/5000 Wilson convertor. All steel except fiberglass hood& scoop. Car weighs app 2875 w/fuel and me(230#) in it.

Engine is 2 bolt main w/arp stud kit and main stud girdle, 460 bored + .030, diamond pistons(app 12.8comp), Total Seal gapless rings, Crane .740 lift roller, Kaase Cobra Jet aluminum heads(Not P51) App 25 runs on new Crane roller springs, ARP head stud kit, Jomar rocker stud girdles, Ford SVO valve covers, Dominator intake drilled for nitrous or throttle body injection. Milodon drag pan, DRE diaper, blueprinted oil pump and Milodon HD oil pump drive. Moroso accusump bottles .
Comes with Bo Laws automotive modified 750 methanol carb that flows 900cfm. Will run about 2 tenths quicker with alcohol 1050 dominator.

This car probably has as many low/mid 10 second runs in the last 23 years as any car in the USA and is still a good runner. It has gone 9:80's at a non NHRA track on an exceptional day but usually runs 10:teens to 10:50 depending on track and weather. The reason the car still runs low 10's is because chassis will not certify below 10.00 due to tubing in the cage that is app .010 to thin. It was 8 second legal when built in late 80's but NHRA rules changed on tubing specs and now it is destined to be a 10 second bracket car(or super street) unless you want to upgrade the cage w/new tubing. Car is very consistent. Last time out(Labor Day 2013/MoKan Dragway 1/8th mile) In 6 total runs it went 6.50(4 times)
6.51 and 6.52
If I knew I was going to get to drive the car again, it probably would not be for sale but right now that is unknown so it is for sale.

The trailer is a 2003 Continental Cargo 8 1/2' by 28' bumper pull , VERY good tires 10 ply Maxxis, 5200# torflex tandem axles w/easylube hubs, Pitpal cabinet, 4500 watt generator, air compressor, 4K winch w/wireless remote, onboard battery tender for Optima deep cycle battery, 12v lighting and new 110v lights inside, am/fm radio, nice built in wooden cabinets with SS worktop on base. tool box, trailer redone inside 2 years ago w carped floor and 28" up on walls. repainted white inside above carpet and ceiling.
