Frame off restoration, 30K spent, 520hp
Engine- 496 professionally built by Kim Barr racing engines in Garland. Engine is built for street use and makes over 500ft/lb at 2200 rpm. Top quality everything... Dynoed at 520hp and 580tq. Hooker Super Competition headers, Edelbrock RPM intake with Holley 750. Could easily pick up 50hp and 50tq with a couple simple mods.
Transmission- TH400 built by Steve Lewis- expert builder with 35+ years experience. Everything is upgraded, 2500 Hughes convertor, 1350 yoke, rare factory "turbulator" pan, etc..
Rear End- Ford 9" built to handle 800+ hp. Strange Engineering nodular center section with Daytona support bearing. Detroit locker differential with 3.89 gears. All professionally assembled by Strange. Peytons Performance handled the narrowing/straightening of the axle housing. It is perfectly built to run 10" wide rear wheels with lots of offset without tubbing or fender mods.
Wheels Tires- Eagle racing 15x7 front with new Falken Ziex 225/60r15 tires. Rear are 10" wide Eagle Racing with 295/55r15 Mickey Thompson drag radials.
Suspension- 2.5" Western Chassis lowering spindles with 1" drop springs. Axle flip in the rear. All steering components were rebuilt with Moog components. All bushings/mounts replaced with Energy Suspension polyurethane. Steers, drives, rides perfectly.
Paint and Body- 6K+ paint job in original 21L light blue metallic done right by Harvey's in Dallas. Beautiful paint! Over 100 photos of paintwork process from beginning to end. ZERO rust repairs! Still has the factory "speckling" under cab and bed. One of the nicest paint jobs you will find on a truck. Bed has ZERO dents! Nothing is shaved or cut up.
Interior- All stock including the original door panels, headliners, factory stereo, bench seat, etc.. Many items were replaced with new but many items were in good enough shape to clean and re-use- this keeps the original "truck" feel without being too sanitary looking. PW/PL, tilt, AC, all gauges and lights work.
To the casual observer, the truck looks like an all original '85 gmc that has been lowered and has nice wheels and tires. There is no 6" cowl hood, giant tach on the dash or other signs of what lurks inside this beast to give away what it is capable of. The mirrors, handles, drip rails, taillights are all stock.... nothing shaved. One look underneath is a dead give away for anybody that knows a thing or two about fast vehicles. 2" primary headers feeding into dual 3" exhaust, 3.5" driveshaft with 1350 u-joints, Ford 9" with Strange center section..... hmmmmm.
This truck is priced at $22,000 or best offer. Please call me at the number listed in the contact box with any questions. No trades or silly offers. This is one of the nicest 73-87 squarebody chevy / gmc trucks you will ever see. And yes, it's scary fast.
