Total rebuild on this very nice 71 Camaro. Less than 500 miles on 383 crate motor. Motor has 420 horsepower and 450 torque with a streetable 10:1 compression. The best thing I ever did to this car was install an American Muscle Tremec 5 speed trans. With Richmond 4.10 gears, the trans regears first to a 4.56 ratio and the final 0.65 overdrive allows me cruise at 70mph at around 1800rpm. A new hydraulic clutch allows for very comfortable shifts. Custom 3" exhaust with X pipe all the way back to the Pypes 3" factory style tailpipes. Ceramic coated Hooker headers, removable Car Chemistrie baffles and Dynomax mufflers make for a perfect tone and enjoyable interior. Awesome Kenwood stereo and amplifier along with Infinity speakers front and rear. Four corner, adjustable coil over shocks. Adjustable, ladderlink suspension on S&W Racecars solid frame rails and weld in subframe connectors. The frame rails were very slightly narrowed to fit 325/50/15 drag radials but the new interior has a full back seat with seat belts. This is not a racecar. I built this car to be a driver and that's what I use it for. I take it to all the car cruises with my daughters and it gets a lot of attention. 16 gallon fuel cell but I can still fit two sets of golf clubs in there. When I bought this car out of my friends barn, it had plates from 1987 on it. I have sunk a TON of money into making the car into what it is today. It is a very solid, turn-key muscle car. I actually have four daughters...so we don't all fit in it anymore!
