1960 Chevrolet Impala SC Bubbletop
Very original and beautiful classic car that looks, runs and drives great!
It does have a few modern upgrades such as a 700R4 transmission, slip joint drive shaft with X-frame support, suspension and wheels/tires!
Believed to have all the original sheet metal!
Very straight body with good gaps. The hood, doors and trunk open and close nicely!
It’s been painted in its original color of Ermine white (code#936). This is very nice paint job that could be considered show quality. The red side molding compliments the white color perfectly!
***Like most classic cars the paint does have some minor imperfections that I’ll go over in full detail over the phone***.
Everything on the exterior is in very nice condition and appears to be original. Some of these items include all the glass, stainless trim, door handles, lights and emblems. The mirrors look new and the front and rear bumper were re-chromed!
The car was lowered 3” and sits perfectly on brand new 18” chrome Rocket Booster wheels with spinners. The outer lip was painted the same color red as the body side molding. The tires are BF Goodrich G-Force Sports that are 225-45-18 on the front and 255-40-18 on the rear. These tires make the car steer easily and handle better than the factory wheels. They also don’t rub!
The exterior is complimented with an all original black and white interior!
This interior is in very nice condition and only shows minimal ware as the photos indicate. All of the gauges are in working order. All of the windows roll up and down very smoothly. The heat does work but has a valve in heater hose that needs to be opened when operating. The wipers, horn, clock and radio aren’t working. Please keep in mind this interior is original and 56 years old
The trunk compartment is nicely detailed with spare tire and truck mat!
The engine compartment is very clean and home to the original 283 V8 (code #FI07E)!
The engine compartment was lightly restored. The firewall and inner fenders look great. The engine has been completely rebuilt and starts and runs excellent. This car starts immediately when you turn the key and purrs like a kitten. It’s equipped with a custom air cleaner, Edelbrock carburetor and new valve covers. The oil neck filler was added for appearance only. The oil is poured into valve cover!
The engine breathes through restored factory manifolds and newer stainless exhaust system. It sounds really nice!
The engine is coupled to a modern 700R4 automatic transmission with overdrive. These are great transmissions and greatly improve the drivability especially on the highway. It also has a slip joint drive shaft and new carrier bearing X-frame to support it!
The undercarriage is very original and clean. It has many new parts over the years such as springs, bushings, brakes, etc.!
Breakdown of the VIN number:
• 0 = 1960
• 18 = Impala V8
• 37 = 2-door sport coupe (Bubble Top)

“The Chevrolet Impala is an Automobile built by the Chevrolet Division of General Motors, Ed Cole who was Chevrolets chief engineer in the late 50’s. The Impala was defined as a prestige car within the reach of the average American citizen. For many years the Impala was the best-selling automobile in the U.S. In 1965 sales exceeded one million units which still holds a record.”
- The Internet
“The 1960 Chevrolet Impala SC Bubbletop you’re about to witness is a beautiful classic car that is very original and user friendly. As my website indicates I’ve collected and sold hundreds of beautiful classic vehicles over the years but I’ve never owned a 1960 Impala until this one. The day I came across this car on the internet for sale I had to have it. I really liked the white exterior with the red side molding and the chrome 18” Rocket Booster wheels with matching red outer lip put the icing on the cake. This car appears to have all its original sheet metal and is very straight. It’s painted in its original color of Ermine white and looks really nice. The black and white interior is all original and is still in great overall condition. You know what they say, “there only original once!” The engine compartment is nicely detailed and home to the original 283 V8 engine. The engine is coupled to a modern 700R4 automatic transmission with overdrive which makes it very drivable. This car starts, runs and drives great. The trunk compartment and undercarriage is also very clean. This isn’t a high end show car but a car that’s perfect for someone who wants a very original car that’s been lightly restored. Don’t get me wrong, it’s definitely a car that could be shown and win a trophy. It’s just not a full blown restoration with test miles. I would challenge anyone to find a comparable car for less. Get it before someone else does!”
