I have for sale a 1980 Cadillac Coupe Deville. Being its a coupe it has 2 doors which i am told is rare for a Deville. It was my grandpas daily driver but he wanted to soup it up to be a mean fast cadi. When he passed away he didnt tell me much about the cadi or all the various pieces he was trying to get to put in it. Im asking 7k OBO because included with the old girl comes a new custom engine, that according to my grandpa, was made from the ground up to be a race engine. He had a friend help him build it, whos name i never got but all i know is he was a pretty important guy who worked at the Firebird race way back when it was still called that. From what my grandpa said the guy knew everything there was about racing engines, so he was the perfect guy to help set the engine up for the cadi. From what i can tell the engine is complete and still sealed off with tape to stop dirt from messing with it, and on a engine stand covered with cloth covers. Sadly you'll see from the pictures there are some problems. The car, shes old. I drove her where she sits now but since then i learned the battery wouldn't hold a charge and i can't afford to put money anywhere. The new engine on the rack has had a few problems, as in a part has cracked from a slow fall it took (see pictures) i have no idea what part that is though, one person says fuel pump then another says no. Good news is you can unscrew some bolts pull the cracked part off and get another on with no hassle. The only other damage you can see is on a pipe on the side its dented but i would imagine it wouldn't bother much (see pictures). With those 2 things though its still all sealed and looking good. I also have a rebuilt transmission that will go with and a lot of various other parts that ill toss pictures up of. With all that said im not a huge car guy, i dont know a lot about cars and various parts and bits, which is probably why my grandpa never tried telling me anything cause i wouldn't understand haha! So i just want to be as honest as i can and show to anyone looking for a project vehicle what they can expect from this sale. Recently ive asked a lot of mechanically inclined people what the engine i have could be, and the only person who really knew a lot was my friends uncle who was a mechanic for 45 years and now has parkinsons, stealing his legs from him. But with only a front ,top, and side picture was able to tell me the engine was "made with go fast parts" and it was made pretty solidly. He said if we could crack it open and check out the inside he could tell me everything put into it and how well it was sealed. But with his condition that would be very difficult so he just said its a great engine, even with the fall damage on the fuel cylinder thing he said the engine should be a easy 8K alone. I will post pictures of it of course. In the pictures you'll see the cracked cylinder hanging off and the dent on the pipe. With all this said i would love to find someone who will bring this boat back to life and toss all the new pieces in it and enjoy the cadi how my grandpa would have. I would like to get $7000 but ill consider other offers for all this. If you want more photos i can send through text or email. Thank you for reading or checking this ad out!
