1979 Chevy Silverado short wheel base two wheel drive. This truck to be a 79 model is in immaculate condition. The body was painted in 2007 and never wet sanded or buffed. Its only been waxed. There's minor dust spots on the top of the cab and roof so the way you see it is how it came straight out of the booth. Everything on the front end as far as trim was replaced when it was painted. All new grille surround headlight buckets trim grille bumper you name it it's new. Windshield was also replaced when it was painted with the antenna made into the windshield as it was in 79. Only thing cosmetic it needs to be perfect is the body trim but I never replaced that. The seat has been recovered and stuffed as well as a new dash pad. The door panels need to be replaced and new carpet and that would finish the truck out. The engine is a built 355 small block. At the time I bought the truck it was exactly as it sits today as far as the drivetrain. I never got the specifics of what's inside the motor from the man who built it bc he passed away. I can tell you what I do know about it though. It has angle plug cast iron gm heads small dome pistons solid lift cam roller rockers edelbrock intake an 800 holley that has been jetted to a 770 electric fan on the radiator msd 6al ignition long tube headers into 2 and half exhaust with an H pipe then flowmaster single chamber mufflers in front of the rear end. It has a gm 12 bolt truck rear end with a factory gm pos unit. It doesnt jerk or chirp when turning but it leaves posi marks when you do a burn out. I had a pinion snubber built over the rear end because when I first bought it it was bad about rolling the rear end on take off and that has cured that. The trans is a 350 turbo with a shift kit. Only thing that needs to be addressed with that is it needs a looser convertor in it. At a stoplight it wants to drag it down and not let the truck idle. Other than that the trucks runs drives and performs flawlessly. I have drivn it over 60 miles to work and back and it done fine. You do have to keep 110 octane blended with 93 though to keep it happy. Anything less and it spark knocks and tries to diesel when you shut it off. This truck is perfect for weekend cruising and turning heads.
