1947 Ford Convertible. Chopped, 327, auto. A/C. Solid West Coast (Washington State) build.
Comfortable on the road or at a show..
A real factory Ford convertible with the folding top. . . not a coupe with the roof cut off.
It started as a really solid rust-free car from the dry high-desert area of the Pacific Northwest. Uses the original Ford frame in a ground up build. Absolutely no frame or floor pan rust issues. Misc paint chips and blems from being driven, it's not a trailer queen.
TOP -- 1941 style top (no rear quarter windows, a '50's custom touch) chopped about 4" and covered with quality Haartz canvas. Has power top hardware installed. V-butted windshield glass.
BODY - Custom touches also include molded top and bottom grill bars, frenched headlamps and tail lamps, shaved door handles (remote door poppers now), shaved trunk handles, shortened side moldings, and shaved bumpers.
INTERIOR - Cloth interior with power bench seat. Modified original dash. Air conditioning, power windows, power antenna, stereo, remote door poppers, and custom gauges. A stock dash and instrument package is included for the next buyer.
CHASSIS - Modified with a 1978-1987 GM metric (Monte Carlo) independent suspension front clip with 2" dropped spindles, power steering and power disc brakes. Rear suspension is also GM metric with 10-bolt rear coil suspension where the GM frame was shaved and welded inside Ford frame rails; retains stock GM geometry.
American Racing Torq Thrust 15" wheels.
ENGINE - Smooth running rebuilt 1966 Chevy 327 with air conditioning, featuring an Edelbrock carb and intake, aluminum oil pan and front cover, HEI, etc. Mated with a rebuilt GM TH350 automatic transmission.
Car runs exceptionally good, with about 21500 miles since build up.
